MarkMagic label printing software

MarkMagic is the easiest, fastest way to print labels and tags with your iSeries, i5 and AS/400 data - without programming.

JMagic Java Client Label Designer

MarkMagic, developed by CYBRA Corporation, lets you print online bar-coded labels and tags based on data from your iSeries AS/400 system without the need to download data to a PC or to perform any other time-consuming and error-prone operations.

Without MarkMagic, you must deal directly with each printer's specific commands and unique print control command language. This is an extremely detailed and time consuming process. With each additional printer, the amount of effort is compounded. MarkMagic eliminates all this effort by including printer drivers that automatically translate MarkMagic designs into the printer language. You never need to concern yourself with the specifics of a printer's control commands.

MarkMagic makes it easy for users to create label formats, to print labels and to change parameters such as label quantity, number across the web, field positions, bar-code type and character fonts "on the fly" without any programming knowledge. It is menu-driven with easily understood prompt screens. It can also generate RPG, Cobol or DDS specifications for inclusion in application source code. MarkMagic supports all the commonly used thermal transfer printers as well as laser, AFP/IPDS and matrix printers.

The latest Release 5.1 of MarkMagic Bar Code Label and Forms Software for the IBM AS/400 has includes a full Forms and Overlays feature, which allows the elimination of pre-printed stationery and forms from any AS/400 application. It also incorporates stored sequence numbers, a UPS MaxiCode Bar Code Wizard, plastic ID card printing drivers, and a library of certified compliance labels for Paxar Monarch thermal bar code printers.

MarkMagic comes with JMagic, a Java-based WYSIWYG PC client label design front-end which operates on any TCP/IP attached client. JMagic Bar Code Label and Forms Designer with MarkMagic is the easiest and fastest way to produce bar code labels, tags and forms using the information stored in your IBM AS/400 database. No matter what kind of bar code document you are trying to print, JMagic helps you design it and MarkMagic can print it. Once the label or form has been designed with JMagic, MarkMagic directs the printer to use your data to produce the label or form according to your design.

New Version 5.1 Features

MarkMagic Visual Designer has a new Main Menu screen, and JMagic has a new, updated look with new icons, and a new menu look and feel.

RFID Support

MarkMagic Version 5.1 fully supports the use of RFID labels/tags and treats the RFID field as a special bar code field. Since RFID fields do not visibly print on the label, you will not see your new field on the design canvas. Instead, you will see +RFID in the upper left portion of the design screen indicating that an RFID field has been added to your format.

Print Monitor

Print Monitor eliminates programming for automatic MarkMagic printing. New spooled files added to a queue or a record added to a database file will trigger a MarkMagic Job to print labels or forms.

IFS Support

QDLS is no longer the the default folder. Now you can enter an IFS path anytime you want to save or retrieve data between MarkMagic and the IFS.

New Graphics Features

Universal graphics allows a monochrome GIF or JPG “source graphic” to be converted to your target printer type directly either via a MarkMagic OS/400 command or via JMagic. This makes interfacing to existing programs and data extremely simple.

Variable graphics can be tied to fields in your database. You no longer have to create multiple formats, each containing a different static graphic when you want a different graphic image, such as a logo or product line drawing, on each printed label or form.
